Katie Quinn takes a whole new, quirky approach to and adds in both black and oats. They’re gluten free and you can’t taste the black beans at all! Less guilt, but just as much ooey gooey chocolatey goodness.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups black beans (that’s one 15-oz can), drained and rinsed
2 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup quick oats (or regular oats will work, too)
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup coconut or vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking
2/3 cup chocolate chips

RECIPE

Preheat to 350F. Combine all ingredients except chips in a processor (Katie used a Vitamix blender), and blend until completely smooth. Stir in the chips, then pour into a greased pan.

Katie sprinkled extra chocolate chips over the top, because there’s no such thing as too much chocolate. Cook the black bean 15-20 minutes, then let cool. (Or be like me and take a bite right away–they’ll just be mushy but still awesomely delicious).

You can place them in the fridge overnight and they will firm up nicely.

Enough of this Katie Quinn chick. I like the recipe but the personality
that comes along with it just makes me want to scream. I’m sure she’s a
nice person but hosting doesn’t seem like her path, at least if I’m the one
    watching.

I recommend to check if your beans are salted or not. In my country they
usually are in brine. Hou will have to wash them and soak a little bit

  36. vradcke on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

    Nice job.

  37. weeeeee111 on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

You really should quote where you got the recipe from, it’s clearly not
yours and really turns people off you and your channel. Disappointed. You
should also rinse the black beans if they’re canned.

  38. GladiatorQueen on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

Anything I can use instead of black beans?

  39. Firoza on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

Black bean brownies are my favorite thing to make for my friends, they’re
the honestly the best fudgy brownies and they are not bad for them! It
changes their views on vegan food as well, plus these are so good they
don’t even notice they are black bean and vegan until you tell them!

  40. Laura Biscaro on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

I love this brownie!! I made it a while ago and it was gone in minutes,
everyone loved it! You can’t taste the beans at all, and the texture is
awesome! A pinch of cinnamon in there is good too ;)

  41. almagh firah on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

this brownies is easier than the original brownies

  42. modestmoose83 on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

Haha, my wife made black bean brownies a few years ago and her brother
texted us when they were in the kitchen and said “yay! brownies! can I have
one?”, before we could even answer the text, he texted back “these brownies
taste like beans.” In fairness, they really did taste like beans. they
    looked amazing though.

  43. Shirelle Weetman-Jones on January 9, 2016: (Reply)

  53. hanaerina on January 10, 2016: (Reply)

I’ve made black bean brownies before with different recipe and loved it.
Well, it was actually red bean brownies because I couldn’t find canned
black beans and cooking black beans was too much of a hassle so I used
canned red beans instead. It turned out delicious nonetheless. This recipe
    looks great too.

  54. Alexis B on January 10, 2016: (Reply)

I have all the ingredients except for coconut oil.. I was wondering if I
