    I know you said don’t use kidney beans or chickpeas, but what about red
    beans? I know they are fairly common to use in Asian pastries, wouldn’t
    that work too? Or are they the wrong consistency for brownies?

    You can get a can of refried black beans…probably won’t need to add salt
    (if you get a spicy can you may not have to add the ceyenne pepper) & you
    won’t need to mash them :)

    and my mom both LOVE it. Personally, I don’t get it. I think its just that
    the word “brownie” leads me to expect to to taste something similar to an

    Martina! Thank you for posting this! I found it a little too sweet but
    that’s just a personal thing. The black beans are actually quite delicious
    in this! I normally don’t enjoy brownies but I’ll be saving this recipe.

    Btw, I used a ricer for the black beans and got a silky smooth result. It
    was quite fun getting little bean noodles!
