  4. Aleksi Porkka on November 20, 2012: (Reply)

I can buy real vanilla sticks in my local store, for 1-2 €.. 😀 And I love
the taste of them both, extract and seeds

Just made these for my family tonight. Everything tasted great and I’m
certain they’ll love them, thanks chef john. I also used a peppermint
flavor instead of of just mint to kind of get around the risk of toothpaste
and go straight for candy canes.

You dissolve it in butter beforehand, of course strain it so you don’t end
up with plant fibre, then you use that instead of the ordinary butter for
    the brownies.

  30. Gatiio on January 24, 2013: (Reply)

Saute it in butter until fragrant, strain it and then add that to the mix.

I made these and they turned out good but REALLY chocolatey. Maybe put less
cocoa powder in them. It was very dense and it sticks to your teeth a lot.

  34. Aliyah Higurashi on February 1, 2013: (Reply)

i watched this over 10 times and i realized just today that scotch pine
looks exactly like douglas fir (well, with icing they look the same.) for
some reason i was under some misconception that scotch pine was a christmas
holly… just… what o__o must’ve been distracted by the food.
