Brownies:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1½ cup white chocolate chips (divided into 1 cup and 1/2 cup portion)
2 eggs
1/4 cup sugar (can be omitted or increased to 1/2 cup sugar depending on how sweet you want them to be)
1 cup flour
¼ cup matcha green tea powder
½ tsp almond extract
¼ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup almond slices
Melt 1 cup white chocolate and 1/2 cup butter together in the microwave. Stir until smooth.
Pour into a large bowl and then add matcha powder and the sugar, blend until combined.
Blend in the vanilla ad almond extracts.
Allow mixture to cool slightly if it feels super hot, but it probably will be a little warm only and that is okay
Add eggs in one at a time, blending after each addition.
Blend in flour.
Stir in almonds and 1/2 cup white chocolate chips.
Spoon into an 8×8 or 9×9″ baking dish, lined with greased aluminum foil.
Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes until edges are light brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
Allow to cool completely (or almost completely)
Topping:
6oz semi sweet chocolate
2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup heavy cream or half and half
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave.
Stir in 2 tbsp butter until melted.
Stir in 1/4 cup heavy cream until smooth.
Pour over cooled brownies.
Allow to set at room temperature or speed this up in the refrigerator.
Cut in to squares, store at room temperature, covered.
