Hot to Make Cannabutter &

1/2 oz (14 grams) marijuana bud, trim, shake, broken up ground course
10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1/2 cup or more chopped, toasted nuts (optional)

Cannabutter Recipe

Make a sachet with cheesecloth for the marijuana and tie it off securely.

Melt butter in double boiler add 1 cup water and the sachet of marijuana.

Keep heat high and water filled in boiler for 2 hours turning the sachet in the hot butter.

After two hours remove heat and using tongs carefully remove sachet of marijuana and squeeze as much butter from the pouch as possible. (a pair of large slotted spoons or a masher can be helpful)

Put filtered marijuana in container in refrigerator for about 1 hour until butter oil has solidified on top of the water, sediment and milk solids.

Strain water off of the canna butter carefully.

Marijuana Recipe

Melt cannabutter in medium saucepan over medium heat.

Preheat to 325°F. Line 8 x 8 x 2-inch metal baking pan with foil, pressing foil firmly against pan sides and leaving 2-inch overhang. Coat foil with nonstick spray.

Once butter is melted and hot, remove from heat; immediately add sugar, cocoa, 2 teaspoons water, vanilla, and 1⁄4 teaspoon salt. Stir to blend. Let cool 5 minutes (mixture will still be hot).

Add eggs to hot mixture 1 at a time, beating vigorously to blend after each addition. When mixture looks thick and shiny, add flour and stir until blended. Stir in nuts.

Beat vigorously 60 strokes.

Transfer batter to prepared pan.

Bake brownies until toothpick inserted into center comes out almost clean, about 25-30 minutes.

Cool in pan on rack. Using foil, lift brownies from pan. Cut into 4 strips. Cut each strip crosswise into 3 brownies for 12 servings.

Dude you didn’t decarboxilate your shit and you probably shouldn’t add
water as not only is THC not water soluble is actually hydrophobic. And the
butter already has water in it.

  46. Richard Park on November 5, 2014: (Reply)

Would *decarboxylating* make this even more potent? Cannabis is very
expensive and I would like most bang for my buck. I plan to follow your
exact steps to make these brownies but would *decarbing my buds at 240*f
for 20-30 mins* in the oven make this even *more potent* during making
*cannabutter* or am I potentially wasting weed and time? I know some
cooking recipes advise *NOT* to decarb as the making/baking process will
naturally turn THCA to THC (decarbing). I’m very new to edibles and I would
an experts advice on truly the *most potent Cannabutter & Brownies*. Please
feel free to add every detail possible to obtain this goal.

  47. Richard Park on November 5, 2014: (Reply)

    0:57 You started with *1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon* *= 0.625 cup of butter*. 4:45
says you used a *1.25 cup of butter* to get 1 cup of cannabutter which is
not true. Am I missing something or is the calculation wrong at the

How long does the effect of the brownie last?

  49. nosoupfuru on November 8, 2014: (Reply)

Only two hours for the butter? Isn’t it still the longer you do it the
better? I usually go the six hours, but if I am wasting my time, please
    let me know.

  50. Colin Fox on November 9, 2014: (Reply)

Do you have to decarboxylate the weed before all of this? Or does that
happen when you have it in the water and butter for 2 hours?
Another quick question is do you need the cheese cloth? If I just throw in
my herb and filter it out with a sifter after would this not be better?
Seeing as none of the butter will stick to the sifter like it may do with
the cheese cloth. Thanks in advance. Very informative and useful video

  51. Juan Zúñiga on November 9, 2014: (Reply)

and what happends if you left the marijuana insted of throw it away? would

Hi, I love this recipe, it looks great. I made some brownies with some good
home made cannabutter and just followed the box recipe, the end result did
not get me high. However, I did the same recipe again and made a
cannabutter cream frosting that knocked me on my ass, however I feared the
brownies has no potency. I am guessing it is because the temperature was at
    350. This recipe says for 325, however, I heard that THC vaporizes at 273.
Is this an issue at all or is there some other process that happens within
the ingredients that would slow the vaporization?

Thumbs up man?TIP= I decarboxylate my weed 1st as it seems to give it a lot
more of a punch after eating it?Also i use coco oil and it works great?I
add some sugar and a little coco powder let it freeze hard then drain it
and im left with some dank oil which i reheat and put into mason jars which
will vac seal it in there as it cools. So every day i have 2-3 teaspoons of
the oil straight out the jar and wow very nice and agreat buzz too.We must
feed our endo canna system each day and this method is the bomb for doing
just that?Anyway liked the look of the brownies would love to try 1
    lol.Peace from down under cheers.
