Hi gretchen, liked your video!! looks great, but one question, is it fudge
icing and ganache the same thing ? or it has a difference? thanks.

  21. Auntie Triza on June 5, 2016: (Reply)

What is it about mix, mix, mix, mixing the brownie mix that would make it
more cake-like? I was expecting you to say it would be more dense, maybe
from overworking the flour? I guess I am still learning :-?

  22. coffebug on June 5, 2016: (Reply)

plastic wrap technique for the frosting swirl! I have never seen this
before and it will definitely make my attempts at swirling easier and much
cleaner! Thanks so much for that, Gretchen!!!

    Gorgeous deliciousness ! ???

Sorry to be such a pest! The above recipe will make enough for 12 right?
It was a tossup between this recipe and your peanut butter/chocolate
cheesecake. Because I am using high ratio shortening in this, will the
icing hold up better? It’s a 2 1/2 hour journey to the competition and I
don’t want them to turn into a melted mess before they get eaten.

  50. Ann Butler on June 6, 2016: (Reply)

These look so good. Love the way you did the multi icing technique.

Gretchen these look so good 🙂 will a regular chocolate cake work as good
as well? and can we add the peanut butter filling in the cupcake after the
cupcake comes out of the oven and cooled completely?

wonderful recipe.. i do miss your funny conversational style though… why
    the change?

  58. licks n kicks on June 9, 2016: (Reply)

Gretchen I made them. Experimentation plus! I made the first batch
dropping spoonfulsl of the cream cheese filling into the brownie batter. I
tried to push it down to be level with the brownie part. It didn’t quite
work. Then, I got smart. I got some zip lock freezer bags and put both
the brownie mix and the cream cheese filling in them and basically piped
them into the cupcake liners. It worked so much better. I have to tell
you that they are sooooooooooo delish and that’s not even with the icing on
them. I didn’t have a tip for my icing bag so I got very creative and
cut one out of Bristol board and inserted it in the freezer bag and voila a
beautiful piped icing. Ingenuity works every time.

This has become a family recipe now Gretchen. I can’t thank you enough!
Your #1 Canadian fan! P.S They were out of the oven for 10 minutes and I
turned my back and some were already MIA! Awesome recipe!
