This one is unreal… whether you call it kladdkaka, Swedish brownie or chocolate mud pie… it’s divine! A gooey centre, rusty brownie edge and when served with sea salt creme fraiche and macerated berries.

I just put mine into the oven. The texture of my batter was a lot stiffer
than in your video. I had to scoop it out with a spatula and even it out in
the baking form. I hope the result is the same !! Anyone know what might’ve
    gone wrong ?

  5. Hanna Young on November 14, 2015: (Reply)

When I make kladdkaka, I add 1 tablespoon of booze, like rum or smoky
whisky and leave cake in the fridge over night and get Swedish truffle
cake. Oh and even better add caramel on top and then chocolate ganache.
    That is ace.

an oven and most ingredients needed for most recipes…

  57. momijifugimia on November 15, 2015: (Reply)

Made this the day I watched it! It turned out so lovely and fudgy in the
center once it cooled down, and even before at mid warm, it was like a
    giant lava/fondant cake.

  58. Hope Cox on November 15, 2015: (Reply)

YUM! I have the same recipe except add buttermilk to the batter for a
luscious,, fudgy chocolate cake. Then I pour a glossy buttermilk ganache
over the cake while it’s still warm. For a fudgy s’more cake I sprinkle a
layer of mini marshmallows over the hot cake and leave it in a warm oven to
melt for a couple minutes before pouring the ganache over the marshmallows
. 🙂 Like your/Ellen’s recipe, this variation is also a GREAT “crowd
pleaser” – it never disappoints! Thanks for sharing, guys!

Can someone explain where the “macerated” part comes into it; I thought
maceration referred to grinding something down, kinda like putting it in a
food processor. That’s what i thought maceration was.
