Brownie layer:
1/2 cup butter at room temperature
1 cup granulated white
1/3 cup brown sugar packed
2 eggs
2 tsp extract
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt (omit if using salted butter)

Layer:
1/2 cup butter at room temperature
3/4 cup pack brown sugar
2 tbsp white granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (reduce to 1/4 tsp if using salted butter)
1 cup chocolate chips

Cereal Treat layer
3 tbsp butter
1-10oz bag mini marshmallows
4 cups rice cereal

Brownie layer instructions:

Add the eggs and the vanilla and mix until combined.
Blend in the cocoa and flour (and salt if using).
Spread into the bottom of a 9×9″ or 8×10″ pan that has been well greased or lined with aluminum foil (foil greased too).

Cookie layer instructions:
Beat the butter and the sugar (white and brown) together until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
Mix in the flour, baking soda and salt (if using).
Stir in chocolate chips.
Spoon chocolate cookie batter over the brownie batter. Spread it out evenly being careful not to push it down into the brownie batter.
Bake at 325F for 30-40 minutes (I used a glass pan and mine took about 45 minutes) until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let cool.

For Rice Krispie layer:
Melt the butter and marshmallows together (on stove on low or in bowl in microwave).
Stir and then add in the cereal. Stir until cereal is coated.
Spread the mixture while still warm over the cookie layer.
Allow to cool and slice into squares.

Recipe found in a Food Network Magazine (Sept. 2016 edition).
